about áse!
I founded Áse Power Consult to provide organizations with the tools necessary to build bridges across racial, economic, religious and cultural divides. The foundation of my consulting practice is grounded in the West African Yoruba philosophy of Áse. Áse is the manifested power to create and produce change through language. People can manifest wondrous environments with words or allow their words to dissolve communities by fostering destructive practices. Through using Áse as a foundation, I challenge organizations to interrogate collective and individual perceptions in order to develop authentic connections with diverse community stakeholders.
I have a Master’s of Science in Education in Community Leadership from Bank Street College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Roosevelt University. I hold anti-racist certifications from People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond, National School Reform and additional training from Southern Poverty Law Center’s Anti-Bias Workshop for Educators and Young Adults. I am a member of the National Diversity Council and the Development Chair for Emerging Arts Leaders of Los Angeles.
Áse Power Consult's mission is to sow seeds of equitable growth in communities invested in cultivating authentic connections across diverse environments. I look forward to harvesting equitable change together.
